Weight Loss Tracker – Week 21

100.5kg.  Come ON!!!!

Well it seems like a week of walking has a bit of a delayed effect.  1.5kg in a week is pretty good.

That puts my goal of 100kg within sniffing distance.  0.5kg in a week should be acheivable if I don’t start gorging myself on pies and cakes.  I do however seem to have given myself an extra week on my chart though.  It’s my birthday next Monday, week 22, which means I should hit my target but for some reason I have a week 23.

At the minute I’m trying to decide my next challenge for weight loss.  I’ve dropped 13% of my body weight in the last 6 months but I’m not quite done.  I’m over the moon but I’m not where I thought I would be.  I set my final reward as being a nice suit but I don’t think I deserve it just yet.  The problem is I have lost most of my weight around my chest and legs and most places other than my belly.  So whilst I’ve lost some round the belly I need to lose more before I look as good in a suit as I want to.  More on that later.

So the plan for this week is to hit the gym and shift that extra 0.5kg.

Wish me luck.

Weight Loss Tracker Week 17 – Getting there.

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I nearly forgot to post my weekly update, that’s how busy I am at the minute.  It’s also reflective that my weight loss has taken a bit of a back seat in my mind recently.  I must sort that out.

So, 2.5kg to go.  I need to get back into my routine and I need to crack on with it.  I’m aiming to ditch another kilo this week, although making brownies won’t help, then hopefully I can ditch another kilo the week after and with the right amount of determination I can head to the Lake District the week after and pound some hills to crack the 100kg mark.

It’s so close now I can taste it.

Weight Loss Tracker Week 16 – Well Rested

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Last week was a rest week for me and I must say I quite enjoyed it.  Calories went up and exercise went down and I’m feeling quite refreshed from it.  The weight in this morning…103.5kg.  The means I met my quite modest target and now I’m ready to rock.

During the rest week I only went to the gym once and that was for a gentle 5 min jog, lots of stretching and then a little bit of swimming, jacuzzi and steam room.  Not what you could call strenuous exercise.  I also popped in and got a sports massage.  My god did that hurt.  It wasn’t that bad until my shoulders and neck and that hurt a lot.  Then it got to my quads and I did let out a bit of a whince.  It felt good afterwards though, much more loose and flexible and a few aches and pains gone too.

Now I’m sat looking at my graph, noticing how those blue and red lines are getting ever closer and thinking I should put in a sustained effort right to the end.  I’m determined not to miss my goal and and now that I’ve only got 7 weeks left I think it’s time for a big push.

This week then I’m off to the gym today.  I’m going to change my routine and opt for switching Low Intensity Steady State (LISS) and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).  I figure today will be a steady jog.  45 mins or so depending on how long I last.  The aim is to get 45mins in regardless of what I do but I dislike jogging the most so I’ve picked that.  Then tomorrow it will be 20mins of rowing machine HIIT.  I must remember to take my heart rate monitior with me.  Then Wednesday off, Thursday LISS and Friday HIIT.  Hopefully it will kick start my weight loss again.

On other fronts, Improving the Shed is going very well.  The kitchen is coming along great and the new job ain’t bad either.

Weight Loss Tracker Week 14

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Howdy folks.

Apologies for the lack of graph last week but here is the updated one for this week.

You’ll see it’s changed a little bit.  That’s because I’ve switched jobs and don’t have Excel anymore so it’s in Google Docs.  That’s not important though, the important thing is that the red line stays underneath the blue line and this last week hasn’t helped that at all.

Again, there’s no excuses for the weight gain.  I know what I’ve done wrong.  I’ve been away at home, I went on holiday over the weekend and generally I haven’t been very good.  The thing now is to get it put right.  I’m so close to hitting my target weight that I don’t want anymore little blips.

The plan for this week is to try and get settled into my new routine.  Starting a new job in London means getting a new gym and getting a new routine.  I’m aiming for back down to 103.5kg this week.

This weeks, slightly delayed, weigh-in was 104.5kgs.  That’s a gain of a kilo again.  It’s slightly…

Weight Loss Tracker Week 13

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Wow, today has been a very busy day for me today and I was up at the crack of dawn to head into London.

For those who don’t know I finished working for Pfizer and I start working for Headshift on April 15th.  That means big changes to my daily routine but I’m determined not to let that upset the great weight-loss I’ve managed so far this year.

So I was up this morning heading to various gyms, having a look around to see which one I fancied.  I’ll get to that in a later post but for now I should go for my weight-loss tracker.

Unfortunately no graph from me this week.  I used to put that together on my work PC and I’ve got it all on a memory stick but that doesn’t want to work with my new shiny Mac.

So, in big bold numbers my weight this morning was…

103.5kg

Not bad considering I didn’t make it to the gym much this week.  I did spend a lot of time tiling over the weekend and my legs feel like they’ve squatted their life out from all the bending down and crouching etc.

This week isn’t going to be good on the gym front either.  I’m away to see family for some of this week which means I’m away from the gym.  I thought I would squeeze some gym time in but then realised I forgot my trainers.  So I guess it’s just down to me watching my food intake and trying to be as active as possible while I’m away.  I’ll set the modest goal of 103kg for my next weigh in, whcih incidentally will be Tuesday since Monday is a bank holiday.

I frickin own this weight loss!

Weight Loss Tracker Week 12 – Bugger

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Well it comes as no surprise this week that I’ve gained a kilo.
weight loss tracker week 12

I’d prepared myself for it.

|I’m still disappointed as it means I’m always going to struggle when I’m taken out of my normal environment.  This weekend was our trip to the Outdoor Show and also Michelle’s birthday.  It meant we ate out a lot and drank quite a lot and did very little exercise.

I was expecting the weight gain to be a lot more.  I switched from beers to wine and spirits for most of the weekend which is a little better.  I also tried to opt for the healthier options but the food was really rich.

My aim for this week is to shift that kilo I’ve gained and another one on top of that.  I’m aiming for 103.5kg next weigh in.

One thing is for sure, it gets more difficult to lose weight as you near your goal.  I wonder if that’s mainly psycological or if it’s physical too?

Weight loss tracker week 11 – Only 0.5kg

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Just the 0.5kg loss, about a pound.  I didn’t have that focussed of a week this week and as well as feeling like I exercised too little I also feel I wasn’t great with my food.  I’m pretty happy with the 0.5kg loss because of those reasons but I’m not happy that I wasn’t focussed.

It means I’ve just slipped off averaging 1kg per week but I’m still ahead of my goals.  The other good thing was I blitzed my 2000m rowing time again.  I took another 5 secs off to get me down to 8m10.2s.  Not bad.  Only 3 people on the gym wall are quicker than me now, but they are quicker by a long long way.

So this next week it’s sock pulling up time.  I’ve got a good week ahead that will challenge what I choose to eat when I’m eating out and out of my routine.  Tonight I’m meeting up with a mate and heading out for dinner and drinks then on Thursday I have lunch and dinner out as well as a weekend away at the Outdoor Show.  I’m determined not to eat badly there since that’s one of my rewards for losing weight!

Weight-Loss Tracker – Week 10

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I had suspected that this morning when I got on the sclaes I’d not be where I wanted to be.  I had been aiming for 105kg or 16.5 stone but yesterday I went o watch the rugby and had a curry afterwards, along with a few pints.

This morning though i was over the moon to see I’d cracked the 16.5stone mark.

weight loss tracker week 10

I’m over the moon.

I now feel like I’m entering that relaxed but efficient stage of this.  I’m not sure if anyone else does this but towards the end of a project or during a rowing challenge or spinning challenge I set myself in the gym there’s a point at which everything just clicks.  You relax into what you’re doing, you know what needs to be done, you’re focussed, there’s no way you’re not going to do what you set out to do and you know that you’re going to finish strong.  That’s where I am right now.

I know that that 100kg mark is mine.  Ther is no doubt in my mind that I’ll acheive it by my birthday.  In fact, if I was to get very cocky I know that I’m going to drop the last 5 kg in 5 weeks.  1kg a week.

I fucking own this!

Weight Loss Tracker Week 9

Monday, March 9th, 2009

So it’s Week 9 of my weight loss regime and I’m still heading in the right direction.

weight loss tracker week 9

Things have slowed down a bit and if you put a little trendline in my results you can see it starting to plateau a little.  I’m going to have to kick on a little bit this week.

I actually had a very good week last week, Monday to Friday Noon anyway.  I cycled in everyday and didn’t eat anything bad at all.  Until it came to Friday night when I had a Chinese takeaway since Michelle was out, then Saturday when I got hobnob cravings and nearly devoured a whole pack and then yesterday when I fancied an ice-cream and some chocolate.  Not a good weekend at all.

One good thing is I’ve hit my next target of 106kg.  I’ll not celebrate yet, not until I’m actually under 106kg.  That means I’ll be booking in my clay pigeon shooting soon.

So, aim for this next week is to be good again but this time maintain it into the weekend.  Saturday shouldn’t be too much of a problem but I’m off to see England play France at Twickenham on Sunday so I’m going to have to refrain from too many pies and beer.

Sid.

Weight loss tracker Week 8 – Back on track

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

weight loss tracker week 8

Well, I’m not sure what’s happened but it seems like I’m back on track.  That’s a loss of 3.5kg this week.  Sometimes I wonder what the hell my body is doing.  To lose 3.5kg of fat would meant that this week I had burnt 31500 more calories than I consumed, that’s an extra 4500 per day.  Now that’s not really possible.

I have been cycling to work all week since not only was a feeling all motivated (in a pissed off kind of way) but the car has been out of action anyway but no way will that account for 3.5kg loss.

So that means that my party weekend obviously screwed with my weight in many ways.  I’m not sure it would be water retention since alcohol is a diuretic but it was something.  I might do a bit of reading round that.

Anyway, the push is on.  Next goal is 106kg so that I can go Clay Pigeon Shooting.
